My late mother-in-law had dementia & was bed ridden. V. bad bed sores. Family full of Drs and other medical types, preferred big-pharma (non)solution. I tried to convince them for months to try calendula flowers (fresh from my garden) on sores. Finally they did. Problem solved in a week, early indication of improvement in 24hrs.

Poor woman having to wait so long. I hope your help was appreciated and they acknowledge the superior power of Calendula xx

I wish. But they're in the mainstream medical world. In their case, no chance.

I am sure it did help, it might be even better if you could infuse it for longer - maybe all day??!! xx

I have a story about comfrey, and how using the bruised leaves on my very swollen leg probably saved me more than a lot of pain and grief. Caused by IV steroids -- long story -- which gave me a double pulmonary embolism; result very sore very swollen leg. Put fresh bruised leaves on sorest part of leg - skin looked same as rest of leg. Bandaged (loose), lay down and fell asleep for about two hours. Was woken sweating heavily with the urgent feeling I needed to remove the leaves.

Repeated process next few days. After about 4 days site started to form a rather large and nasty looking puss 'head' on the comfrey application spot. Was going to let it burst itself, but accidentally knocked it off. Evacuated it myself then; wont go into details but there was a lot of muck and a hole about 8mm diameter.

About a week later the leg swelling had completely gone and the hole had healed. I'd had swelling for over two years.

I love comfrey. And I was only using it for gardening.

Thanks for telling us about all the uses of calendula. I made a salve this summer with flowers from my garden. When steam scalded my inner wrist, I immediately applied the salve and the pain ended within moments and my skin was back to normal in less than an hour.

I will make a tincture when I have new flowers. I have chronic hives and indigestion issues so I’m hoping for improvement using the tincture.

I’m new to plant medicine so I have a lot to learn.

Glad to hear you healed your wrist so quickly. I burned my foot some years ago with a kettle of boiling water. Thanks to Calendula salve I can't tell which foot it was! The learning never stops so don't panic. xx

Thanks Terri ! Amazing your calenduala and honeysuckle are still going 👏 In my sheltered garden in NE England the calendula flowers disappeared a month ago so I took the opportunity to harvest the seed. The honeysuckle flowers went a couple of weeks ago . Still quite a lot of roses though 🥰

I love to greet my calendula and tell them how beautiful they are. 🌞 They have gone to seed and back in their spirit form now here in the Midwest, US, but I have jars of dried flowers waiting. Beautiful film!

how do u use the tincture for digestion taking it orally?

Danu's Irish Herb Garden's avatar

If you buy a tincture, the dose should be on the bottle. If you make your own the recommendation is about 3-5ml twice or three times a day before meals xx
