Hello and Welcome to Danu’s Irish Herb Garden!

I am Terri Conroy and I am delighted to welcome you into this garden. It is my garden of course, but is named for the Irish Mother Goddess, Danu and I am working to restore this small piece of Her land that I am blessed to be a guardian of. When I first took responsibility for this land, it was barren. There were lots of rocks and grass but little else. I planted trees and hedges, built vegetable beds and made flower beds and now I can sustain my health and well being through medicine, organic food and my reconnection with Nature. You can see the difference after 15 years or more here -

My mission in life is to do whatever I can to enable, encourage and inspire people to also become a little more independent and self-reliant as well as to reconnect with our Earth by telling them all about plants.

I grow organic, healing plants and I share some of my herbal knowledge and tree lore reminding you that plants are intelligent, sentient beings, full of wisdom and generosity and are ready to help humankind remain a part of this beautiful planet.

You may think that you cannot do this because you do not know how. I was once the same; frustrated because there didn’t seem to be anyone to guide me. I grew up in an industrial town and had no idea where to start. But the urge was within me - to make a reconnection with the natural world.

I began my garden with trial and error, growing potatoes and onions at first, then planting a few trees. Now, 15-20 years later my garden is erupting with growth! Apart from the physical changes that I have instigated, by planting and growing, I believe the amazing growth and life here is also due to the spiritual and energetic connection which has been forged. I was also fortunate to find various Wise Women here in Ireland and elsewhere who provided me with some direction.

I want to do the same for others. Whether you live in a town, city or a village, you can grow a garden or forage for plants to heal and nourish yourself and your family. I tell my students that it IS easy because it is encoded in our DNA, we have genetic memory and it is simply a practise.

I began on You Tube and have created 267 videos which have garnered over 7 million views and more than 180,000 subscribers. Unfortunately, algorithms are making it more difficult for me to reach people, even those who have subscribed. There is also a limit on what I can do and say. Here, I will be posting videos, making podcasts as well as writing a weekly blog or newsletter. I can be more creative and go into more depth and there are no advertisements to interrupt the flow. I also hope to build a community through the chat where we can all share our expertise and knowledge with tips and ideas and build up a sense of like-minds uniting in a troubled world.

The paid subscribers will have access to a little more -

I hope you will consider joining this new community and being a part of the conversation about how not only can we benefit from the abundance that Mother Nature offers; but also what we can do for her through reciprocity, ritual and ceremony.

Please Note - any information I give about medicinal plants is for interest and education only and should not replace medical care. Please see a herbalist or your medical practitioner if you have any health issues.

My garden is named for the Irish Mother Goddess, Danu. I work to give plants a space to live and thrive and acknowledge that they help me to do the same.
