Huge apologies to all of ye, dear subscribers. I have been missing in action for two weeks with no word but I can now explain. I went away to Scotland to visit my 90 years old mother in law and then popped to see a friend, returning in time to make last week’s video and catch up on Substack. Unfortunately, I woke last Saturday morning with pain so bad I have no memory of waking; of my husband calling for an ambulance; of the hour and a half journey to the hospital; of the many hours in the ER waiting room. So strange to think that so much happened and I was completely unaware. Eventually I was compos mentis enough to participate in a CT scan before being admitted to the hospital.
The kidney stone had passed so I do not know what kind of stone it was, but they decided to put in a stent to give my kidney a chance to recover. At least that is what I understand because they are so reluctant to explain anything fully, almost as if it was none of my business. I was given morphine and IV anti-biotics with a week’s supply of anti-biotics to bring home. I have been feeling whacked and weak but I am not in any pain now.
So apologies for not being able to get here before now and thank you so much to everyone who has been in touch with good wishes and kind thoughts. The kindness from people that I have never met in the flesh is truly amazing and really gives me hope for our species.
See you in a day or two after some contemplation and many blessings to all.
